Dear Members of WHO, Hon. Narendra Modiji and World Leaders,
Population explosion- Global menace
An earnest appeal for the establishment of
“World Population Wing-WPW” attached to WHO.
Recommendations: Global Population Policies to suit the Local needs as Vasudaiva Kutumbakam.
'Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu' (May all men be happy).
It is a known fact that the WHO has been taking care of health aspects of population at global level since its inception. WHO keeps on informing health problems including remedies every now and then on the basis of information collected. This is the high time to consider the population menace at global level to balance between available resources and population at large to avoid untold future consequences.
Each country has been facing unique population problem of its own whether it is high or low. The countries also tried in the past to tackle population issues through local measures suitable to their geographical needs. However, they experienced more failure than success and went on by reversing their own policy measures. Such failures may be attributed to intervening factors like religion, superstition, super power acquisition including change in political guards.
The population menace at country level may spill over the globe in the long run. The height and heat of such problem under the pretext of Terrorism are already witnessed. The problems of neighbor may become our own problems unless they are tackled unitedly. It is the high time for the progressive countries to come together and think globally to address the population problem setting aside their narrow political, religious, unwanted super power agenda.
There should be a separate "World Population wing- WPW" attached to WHO to address population issues at global level. The following points may be considered to tackle such issues.
1. Online updating of birth and death rates of countries which can have access at global level.
2. Absolute transparency in the allocation of per capita available resources.
3. Global approval of appropriate Population policies on the basis of scientific studies experts attached to the wing.
4. Global Population Education Programs based on local requirements of each country.
5. Uniform Global Population policies setting aside religious sentiments.
6. Local population issues have to be monitored constantly by the wing and it should provide appropriate solutions to tackle the issues.
Hence, it is high time to think globally while addressing local population issues. It calls for strong global political will to alleviate population issues including schizophrenic super powerism.
